At 7 p.m. the regular commissioner’s meeting will be held, and will include:
–recognizing the Hope Mills Angels 10U state championship team,
–presenting the new town website,
–rezoning some land on Hope Mills Rd. from residential to commercial,
–annexing some property that is being discussed at the 4 p.m. meeting,
–zoning a piece of property at Legion Rd. and Ireland Dr. for a gas station/convenience store,
–closing a portion of Spreading Branch Rd. and Batesburg Dr. (public hearing on this is scheduled for the regular August 18 meeting),
–annexation of about 50 acres on Waldos Beach Rd. and Camp Tom Upchurch Rd.,
–purchasing bulletproof vests and firearms for the Police Department,
–discussion of next steps involved in the Hope Mills Lake/Dam project, and
–initiation of discussions on the 1985 town curfew ordinance.
