POSS NAMED TO WNC SPORTS HALL OF FAME

Coach Bobby Poss, who led the South View Tigers to their 1991 state championship, has been selected for the Western North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame, along with two other WNC state-title-winning coaches.
Poss, 67, is also the only North Carolina high-school football coach to win state titles at three different schools. He finished with five state championships (two at 71st in 1984 and 1986, South View in 1991, and Asheville Reynolds in 1999 and 2002.
In his 28 seasons, Poss led his teams to a 241-89-1 record.
The Hall of Fame is administered by the Mountain Amateur Athletic Club. The ceremony is May 6 at the Omni Grove Park Inn.
